ZEE5 Global has unveiled the trailer of their upcoming horror-comedy, 'Kakuda.' Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar and produced by RSVP, 'Kakuda' features a star-studded cast including Sonakshi Sinha, Riteish Deshmukh, Saqib Saleem, and Aasif Khan. The trailer offers a glimpse into the peculiar curse affecting the village of Ratodi.

The film follows Sunny, played by Saqib Saleem, who marries Indira, portrayed by Sonakshi Sinha, and moves to Ratodi, only to be cursed by 'Kakuda.' On their wedding night, Sunny's failure to open a door for Kakuda at a specific time invites the ghost, who punishes the man of the house. Indira seeks help from Victor, an eccentric ghost hunter played by Riteish Deshmukh. Together, they embark on a comedic yet spooky journey to solve the mystery of Kakuda and the village's longstanding curse.

Director Aditya Sarpotdar stated, “The release of the 'Kakuda' trailer is just a glimpse into the fascinating narrative of a unique folklore that we've created. This labor of love has been a thrilling ride, blending horror and comedy in a way that will keep audiences intrigued.”

Riteish Deshmukh, reflecting on his role as Victor, an unconventional ghost hunter in 'Kakuda', conveyed his excitement about exploring new facets of his acting prowess. He emphasized the uniqueness of the character, describing it as a refreshing departure from his previous roles. He shared, “This character is unlike any other I've portrayed, and that's what makes it so exciting.”

Sonakshi Sinha commented, “I must admit, balancing horror with comedy is a challenging task – it's not easy to make people laugh while simultaneously sending chills down their spines.” She discussed her role in 'Kakuda' as a character grounded in science rather than superstition. Despite her beliefs, encountering the village's peculiar ritual prompts her to embark on a quest for truth, delving deeper into the mysteries that unfold.

Saqib Saleem added, "I've always been a fan of comedy movies, and the horror-comedy genre is a personal favorite. The film's quirky and intriguing storyline about solving the mystery of a ferocious ghost and a cursed village's haunting ritual is what initially drew me in.”

The trio is set to unravel the mystery as 'Kakuda' premieres on July.12, exclusively on ZEE5 Global.
