ZEE5 to premiere high-school drama ‘Farrey’

The drama is a Hindi-language remake of the Thai film ‘Bad Genius’

ZEE5 Global, a streaming platform for South Asian content, announced the world digital premiere of ‘Farrey’. The drama, directed by Soumendra Padhi, is set to premiere on April 5, 2024. 

Navigating the complexities of high school life, the film tells the tale of an orphaned prodigy, Niyati. It delves into her experience at a new school, as she earns a scholarship owing to her talents. However, her journey takes a dark turn when she becomes entangled in a cheating scandal orchestrated by her peers. 

The film explores ambition, moral complexity, and the pressures of academia. It features Alizeh Agnihotri in the lead role as Niyati, alongside a cast of Ronit Roy, Sahil Mehta, Zeyn Shaw, Prasanna Bisht, Juhi Babbar, and Shilpa Shukla. ‘Farrey’  was jointly produced by Salman Khan Films and Mythri Movie Makers and Athena. It 

Padhi expressed his excitement about bringing ‘Farrey’ to audiences on ZEE5 Global. She said, “Watching Alizeh win accolades for ‘Farrey’ has been immensely gratifying and overwhelming. Despite being a debutant in the film industry, she has delivered a phenomenal performance that has left audiences in awe. Agnihotri, overwhelmed by the positive reception to her performance, expressed her gratitude towards the audience and her co-stars. “As the film gears up for its digital premiere on ZEE5 Global, I’m hopeful that this wave of appreciation continues. I’m grateful towards the amazing team and co-stars I had the privilege of working with on this film, “ she said.

The 23-year-old actress received the award for the Best Female Debut at the Filmfare Awards 2024. Initially released on November 23, 2023, the film is a Hindi language remake of Thai film, ‘Bad Genius’.
