World Hindu Congress 2023 concludes in Bangkok

The two-and-a-half-day event witnessed the participation of over 2,000 delegates from 61 countries, engaging in 47 sessions.

The World Hindu Congress 2023 concluded successfully in Bangkok. The two-and-a-half-day event featured engaging discussions and significant announcements, reaffirming the commitment to the principles of Hindu Dharma.

The event witnessed the participation of over 2,000 delegates from 61 countries, engaging in 47 sessions. Eminent speakers included Dr. Mohan Bhagwat,  head of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS);  Dattatreya Hosabale, general secretary of the RSS; Madhu Pandit Dasa, chairman of Akshaya Patra, and other notable figures.

During the inaugural day, a WHC Declaration was unveiled in which the World Hindu Congress strongly condemned malicious attacks on Hindutva and Sanatan Dharma. Notably, the declaration renounced the term "Hinduism," which was coined by a British Christian to denigrate Hindu Dharma as an "ism," representing an oppressive belief system. 



The Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, in a written messageaddressed to the Congress emphasized that peace would be established in the world only through Hindu values of life.

Addressing the attendees, chancellor of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritānandamayī Devi emphasized the pivotal role of Dharma in bringing well being and prosperity to humanity. She advocated for a minimum of two percent of the donations received by temples and religious institutions to be allocated for the printing and free distribution of Hindu Dharma Granths (spiritual texts).

At the event’s conclusion, the World Hindu Economic Forum revealed that  its 2024 meeting to be held in Mumbai, is scheduled for December 13-15. The annual event is designed to promote economic collaboration and growth within the global Hindu community. 

Additionally, plans for the World Hindu Congress 2026 were announced, slated to occur from December 18-20 at the Jio Convention Centre in Mumbai.
