Wipro promotes Srini Pillia to CEO

As CEO, Pallia will be based in New Jersey and report to chairman Rishad Premji

Wipro, an Indian multinational IT firm, recently announced a reorganization, with Srini Pallia taking over as CEO and managing director.

This was announced after Theirry Delaporte stepped down from his CEO role at the company. Pallia, who most recently served as the firm’s Americas 1, its biggest and fastest growing strategic market.

In that role In this role, he oversaw diverse industry sectors, established their vision, and implemented growth strategies, resulting in increased market shares within these sectors.

Commenting on the new role, Pallia reaffirmed his commitment to Wipro’s continued growth. He aimed to maintain the company's technological lead by capitalizing on its strengths.

Having joined the company in 1992, Pallia is a member of the Wipro executive b oard. Over the course of his time at the company, he has served as president of Wipro’s consumer business unit and as global head of business application services.

“I have built my entire career at Wipro, and I have a deep appreciation of our 78-year history and our incredible team of more than 240,000 associates. We have the right strategy, and tremendous people and capabilities throughout the organization, and I am excited about the opportunities for future growth,” Pallia further stated.

Chairman of Wipro, Rishad Premji welcomed Pallia’s appointment, stating,  “Srini is an ideal leader to lead Wipro at this pivotal moment for our company and industry.”

Pallia has a bachelor’s degree in engineering and a master’s in management studies from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore. He also attended the executive programs at Harvard Business School and the McGill Executive Institute.
