The United States led by President Joe Biden has reiterated its ironclad support for the security of Israel in the wake of a large scale drone attack against the Jewish state by Iran even while moving aircraft carriers and ballistic missile defence destroyers into the troubled waters of the Middle East.

“ Iran—and its proxies operating out of Yemen, Syria and Iraq—launched an unprecedented air attack against military facilities in Israel. I condemn these attacks in the strongest possible terms. At my direction, to support the defense of Israel, the US military moved aircraft and ballistic missile defense destroyers to the region over the course of the past week” President Biden said in a statement.

The President informed that he had spoken to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stressing that Israel demonstrated a “remarkable capacity” to defend and defeat unprecedented attacks. Biden further added that the leaders of the Group of Seven will convene to come up with a united diplomatic response to what has been characterised as a “brazen attack”.

The President further warned that although American forces and facilities have not been attacked, the United States will remain vigilant to all threats.

The Spokesperson of the National Security Council, Adrienne Watson, in taking note of the drone attacks maintained that the President is being regularly updated on the situation by his national security team as well as being in touch with officials in Israel and allies.

“President Biden has been clear: our support for Israel’s security is ironclad. The United States will stand with the people of Israel and support their defenseagainst these threats from Iran” Watson said.
