Republican presidential primary candidates Nikki Haley and Vivek Ramaswamy seem to have leveled up in terms of slinging attacks and insults at each other over the ongoing war in Israel. The latest came from Ramaswamy where he said that his opponent should be disqualified from the presidential race.
Speaking to reporters outside the First in the Nation Leadership Summit in New Hampshire on October 13, Ramaswamy accused Haley for having “personal conflicts of interest” with the war. His comment was in reference to her reported links with companies that supply defense equipment.
“Nikki Haley has foreign policy experience and it shows — in her bank account, to the tune of $8 million,” he said. The biotech entrepreneur went on to say, Haley has a “hawkish neoconservative vision that I worry is going to lead us to prolonged conflict and war.”
Ramaswamy also took a swipe at reigning President Joe Biden, “It is sick. Especially when you have a Biden crime family and the White House that has monetized their connections and their foreign policy and sold off our foreign policy. We don’t need to substitute them with a Republican version of the same.”
“….I do not want a president anywhere near the White House who’s willing to march us into World War III, as [Haley’s] rhetoric suggests,” Ramaswamy added.
The U.S. and Israel signed a US $38 billion military package, the largest such aid package in U.S. history, in 2016. The memorandum of understanding was signed for the FY2019 to FY2028. Ramaswamy recently expressed his support for cutting down financial aid to Israel after the package expires in 2028. Haley reacted to his comment saying “as President, I will never abandon Israel.”
