Indian-American billionaire Vinod Khosla congratulated Elon Musk on Donald Trump's win in the 2024 U.S. election, expressing hope that Musk could help shape U.S. policy positively under Trump’s leadership.

In a social media post, Khosla encouraged Musk to support a balanced approach with former President Trump, saying, "Hopefully, you can get Trump to do some of the things he said he'd do and not do some of the things he promised to do."

The congratulations came as a surprise because Khosla reached out to congratulate Musk despite their recent differences.

The feud started when Khosla criticized Argentina's president, Javier Milei, whom Musk supports. Khosla claimed Milei's austerity policies were causing poverty and warned similar policies under Trump could do the same. He mentioned a 52 percent poverty rate, calling it "dictatorial."

Musk, a strong supporter of Javier Milei’s libertarian economic principles, didn’t hold back when Khosla criticized the Argentine president’s austerity measures.

Musk responded, correcting Khosla's mix-up between poverty and unemployment data, which is 7.6 percent. Fact-checkers confirmed Musk’s claim. Things got worse when Musk called Khosla "dumb" in a tweet.

After this online back-and-forth, with this congratulatory message, Khosla expressed hope that Musk would focus on meaningful reforms, like improving FDA regulations, supporting climate action, and keeping a strong stance on international alliances.
