The National Council for Prescription Drug Programs (NCPDP) has announced that Indian-American physician and public health expert Vin Gupta will deliver the keynote address at its 2025 Annual Technology and Business Conference.
The event, themed 'all in for CONNECTED CARE', is set to take place from May 5-7, 2025, at the Westin Kierland Resort and Spa in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Gupta, a recognized leader in healthcare innovation and former chief medical officer at Amazon Pharmacy, will present a session titled 'The Future of Healthcare: How Your Organization Will Be Impacted.' His keynote will explore advancements in artificial intelligence, digital health, and pharmacy innovation, highlighting ways to foster stronger collaboration among providers, pharmacists, and patients.
“Vin Gupta is a true futurist in pharmacy healthcare, bringing invaluable expertise in public health, pharmacy innovation, and AI-driven solutions. His innovative approach to digital health, patient engagement, and teamwork across different fields will be invaluable to our membership," said Lee Ann Stember, president and CEO of NCPDP.
With nearly two decades of experience in health policy, clinical practice, and advising global organizations, Gupta has been instrumental in leveraging digital solutions to improve medication accessibility and affordability. His work at Amazon Pharmacy focused on advancing ePharmacy services to streamline patient care and enhance efficiency.
"The future of healthcare relies on building a connected system that puts patients first. I'm looking forward to joining NCPDP's Annual Conference to dive into how we can use these technologies to make a real difference and improve health outcomes for everyone,” Gupta said.
Gupta is currently a senior principal at Amazon’s Devices and Services group. He is an affiliate professor at the University of Washington’s Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation and an attending physician at Virginia Mason Medical Center. A U.S. Air Force Medical Service Reserves officer, he holds degrees from Princeton, Columbia, Cambridge, and Harvard. Gupta is a board member of the American Lung Association and a frequent speaker on public health, technology, and healthcare policy.
NCPDP is a not-for-profit, multi-stakeholder forum that develops industry standards and business solutions to enhance patient safety, improve health outcomes, and reduce costs through collaboration. The conference will gather hundreds of healthcare leaders to discuss industry trends and innovations.
