VFS Global secures contract to issue UK visas

VFS Global, the service provider for numerous Visa and Citizenship Application Centres abroad, and is set to inaugurate UK application centres in 84 additional countries in 2024. 

Operating across 142 countries, the recently signed contract with the UK marks the sixth global contract secured by VFS Global in the current year. 

Serving as a trusted partner of the UK government since 2003, the company has earned recognition for its excellence in providing global services for overseas UK visa and Citizenship services. A leading entity in the field, VFS Global is acknowledged as one of the world's foremost providers of visa, passport, and citizen services, the company stated in a press release.

In 2024, VFS Global is set to establish 240 Visa and Citizenship Application Service (VCAS) Centres for the UK, covering 142 countries across various regions. This extensive deployment will include locations in Africa, the Middle East, the Americas, Australasia, Europe, China, Taiwan, and Asia-Pacific.

These centers, spanning various regions, will accept applications for all categories of visas and, in specific locations, UK passport applications. The anticipated annual processing capacity is 3.8 million applicants. VFS Global, as part of its commitment, plans to invest in enhancing the customer journey and accessibility. This initiative involves the development of new customer websites and improvements to in-person experiences, as outlined in the company's release.

VFS Global has implemented strong identity checks, utilizing cutting-edge technologies to safeguard the integrity of the visa and passport application process. The company emphasizes its commitment to ensuring security and has stated that the new contract is anticipated to generate savings for the UK government, according to the press release.

VFS Global has announced plans to broaden its network of paid application centers, extending beyond VCAS centers. This expansion aims to bring the visa application process closer to customers by establishing partnerships with popular hotels and resorts. Currently available in India, the UAE, and the US through hotel partners, this initiative reflects the company's commitment to enhancing accessibility and convenience for applicants.

VFS Global has also secured the global biometric collection service mandate with Australia and the renewal of the global visa service contract with Sweden.
