Venkat Kotla named chief technology officer of Securonix

Texas-based software development company Securonix, has appointed Indian origin executive Venkat Kotla as its chief technology officer, for scaling the company’s engineering function and fostering partnerships with technology organizations to support the growing demand for the company’s Unified Defense SIEM platform.

Noting that the platform is a backbone of cybersecurity defenses, Kolta said, "I'm excited to join a team that is hyper focused on product development and deeply committed to innovation. I look forward to working with the leadership team to incorporate advanced technologies into the platform and aggressively develop new partnerships with the world's leading technology providers.”

Welcoming Kotla to the company's executive leadership team, chief executive officer Nayaki Nayyar said, "As we continue to evolve and move into our next phase of growth, it is critical for our platform to scale with enterprise-grade reliability and meet the growing needs of modern enterprises charged with defending an expanding threat landscape." Nayyar added that Kotla's experience with advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), will be invaluable for the company.

The Securonix platform is aimed to to defend modern enterprises against advanced threats, the company said in its statement. The company's Unified Defense SIEM provides organizations with 365 days of ’Hot’ searchable data and introduced an integration with ChatGPT that delivers generative AI capabilities.

Before joining Securonix, Kotla worked at Atlassian, Wricsson, Fujitsu and HCL Technologies. He has earned his bachelor's degree in engineering from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani; master's in Science from George Mason University (where he has also served as adjunct faculty); and masters in business administration from The Wharton School.
