US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) president and CEO, Mukesh Aghi congraluted Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on being sworn into office for a historic third term.

Modi was sworn in as prime minister on June 9 after his Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government acquired the majority in the general elections of the country. With this, he became the only Prime Minister after Congress stalwart Jawaharlal Nehru to be sworn in three  consecutive times.

"I congratulate Prime Minister Narendra Modi on being sworn in for a historic third term and leading the NDA government,” Mukesh Aghi said. "Within days of the results, the swearing-in shows that there is alacrity to immediately resume the business of governance and repay the trust that the world's largest democracy has bestowed on its leaders."

Despite the coalition government, Aghi noted that "incoming portfolios assigned show that there is a sense of continuity in policy and reform agendas." "This would not only assuage investor fears but also encourage investor sentiment," he added."We look forward to continuing this momentum with the Government of India and wish the prime minister and all incoming ministers all the success for their new term,” Aghi said.

The USISPF has collaborated with the Indian government since its inception in 2017 with the sole objective of fortifying the strategic partnership between the United States and India and enhancing the bilateral relationship to even greater heights. Modi was hosted by the forum during his state visit to Washington in June 2023.
