According to reports, the US Congress has given the green light for GE Aerospace to pursue the jet contract with India ahead of President Joe Biden's upcoming trip to New Delhi for the G20 Summit.

The implementation of the business's agreement with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), which involves jet engine manufacturing in India, technology transfer, and licencing arrangements, has been made possible by the Congress' lack of resistance to the Joe Biden administration's decision, according to reports.

GE Aerospace and HAL have signed an agreement (MoU) to produce F-414 jet engines in India for the LCA Mk2 light combat aircraft, which is still in development. The agreement was reached on June 22, while Prime Minister Modi was on a historic state visit to the United States.

For the G20 Summit in New Delhi, President Biden will be in India from September 7 to 10. India and the US are anticipated to discuss how to move the pact forward during his visit.

GE Aerospace, based in the United States, is the world's largest supplier of jet engines, parts, and systems for civil and military aircraft. The fact that the US never distributes equivalent technology, even to its closest allies, emphasizes the importance of the agreement.
