Umesh Sachdev named AI Innovator of 2023

Sachdev's journey in AI innovation began over fifteen years ago when he co-founded Uniphore alongside Ravi Saraogi.

Indian American Umesh Sachdev, co-founder and chief executive officer (CEO) of Uniphore has been named as the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Innovator of the Year 2023 at the AI Developer World Conference, for his contributions to the AI and machine learning industry.

A pioneer in the domain, Sachdev expressed gratitude on X, formerly known as Twitter. "I’m deeply honoured and humbled to receive the 2023 AI Innovator of the Year award," he wrote.

Sachdev’s journey in AI innovation began over fifteen years ago when he co-founded Uniphore alongside Ravi Saraogi. Under his leadership, the SaaS and generative AI company, has developed cutting-edge technologies.

Uniphore in a statement said, that his leadership has become a driving force for the company in transforming the modern enterprise to become more human and better-performing businesses.

Chief marketing officer of Uniphore, Annie Weckesser, expressed delight about the recognition gained by Sachdev. “This award not only highlights his leadership in the AI industry but also demonstrates the strength and depth of Uniphore's expertise in AI. Umesh's vision has guided our innovation engine, and we are excited to continue pushing the boundaries of what's possible in enterprise AI," she said.

"Umesh Sachdev is a great example of a true AI and machine learning innovator, who also supports developers, engineers and professionals to build upon the exploding AI/ML industry,” said Jonathan Pasky, executive producer and co-founder of DevNetwork, producer of the AI DevWorld conference and the 2023 AI TechAwards.

Sachdev, as an international business leader, has been recognized with many awards including 40 under 40’ Bright Young Business Leaders in the Economic Times, ‘Next Generation Leader’ by Time Magazine, and an ‘Innovator Under 35’ by MIT Tech Review. He has a strong portfolio of patents showcasing his commitment to advancing AI technology.

An alumnus of Jaypee Institute of Information Technology (JIIT), India, Sachdev is also a chairperson of the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) Startup Connect and a board member of IIT- Madras' Rural Technology and Business Incubator (RTBI).
