University of Massachusetts Dartmouth provost Ramprasad Balasubramanian announced the appointment of Madan Annavarjula as the new Dean of the Charlton College of Business on May.13, 2024, effective September 1, 2024.
Indian American Annavarjula most recently served as dean of the College of Business and professor of International Business at Bryant University, where he oversaw strategic planning, curriculum development, faculty management, and day-to-day administration.
Under his leadership, Bryant’s College of Business achieved significant national and international recognition, with its International Business major ranking 17 in the U.S. according to U.S. News and World Report in 2023.
Additionally, Annavarjula spearheaded the launch of a new graduate-level online MBA program in 2018, currently ranked in the top 15 percent of the nation by U.S. News and World Report (2024).
“Dr. Madan Annavarjula brings a wealth of experience, leadership, and vision to this role,” said provost Balasubramanian. “His passion for fostering entrepreneurship, integrating technology into the curriculum, and building strong global partnerships aligns perfectly with our vision for the Charlton College of Business.”
Annavarjula’s experience extends beyond leadership roles. He is a recipient of numerous awards for teaching and service, including the Excellence in Teaching Award (2010) and Outstanding Service Award (2011) at Bryant University. He is also a published scholar with research interests in technology strategies of multinational corporations and international business education.
“I am excited at the opportunity to lead the Charlton College of Business and to participate in fostering experiential learning opportunities, growing market-driven academic programs, and building excellent outcomes for our students,” said Annavarjula.
The Indian American obtained his MBA from Karnatak University, India and Bachelor of Science from Gulbarga University, India. He holds a Ph.D. in International Business from the Fox School of Business at Temple University.
