Republican presidential primary candidate Donald Trump sounded the warning alarm for his opponent Nikki Haley’s donors.
In a Truth Social post recently, the former US President and current frontrunner among likely GOP voters said he will not welcome Haley’s contributors in his camp in the event of her loss in the elections.
Trump said it is a norm in politics for campaign donors of the losing party to turn to the winner to help out with resources. He said the Make America Great Again (MAGA) camp will no longer accept the olive branch going forward.
“When I ran for Office and won, I noticed that the losing Candidate’s ‘Donors’ would immediately come to me, and want to ‘help out,’” he said. “This is standard in Politics, but no longer with me,” the post read. “We don’t want them, and will not accept them,” he wrote.
Calling her former boss “unhinged” for his threats to her donors in an interview with Fox News, Haley said that he has been encouraging patty members to crown him the nominee just after contests in two states.
“Then he goes and says that he’s gonna ban anyone from MAGA that donates to me. Think about that,” Haley said in the interview as quoted by The Hill.
“That’s a president who’s supposed to serve every person in America and you’re deciding that you’re going to have a club and actually banned people from being in and out of your club,” she added stating that Trump knows nothing about how how he’s going to stop wasteful funding, prevent war or secure the border.
Haley has appeared to take Trump’s jibes in her stride in the past. She took the latest post with a grain of salt as well and linked her campaign website, writing, “Well in that case…donate here. Let’s Go!”
