Former President Donald Trump has a significant lead over incumbent Joe Biden in six out of the seven states that will play a major role in 2024 presidential elections a new poll has found.
According to the Bloomberg News/Morning Consult swing state poll, Trump has a clear lead over Biden in four states. A 10 point lead in North Carolina (51 percent-41 percent), eight point lead in Nevada (51percent-43 percent), seven point lead in Arizona (49 percent-42 percent), and six point lead in Georgia (49 percent-43 percent)
In Wisconsin (48 percent-44 percent) and Pennsylvania (47 percent-46 percent) Trump’s lead is minimum, just inside the poll’s margin of error. While in Michigan, Biden has a two-point lead (47 percent-45 percent) over Trump.
These results are in contrast to the 2020 poll results in which Biden swept majority support in six states while Trump took North Carolina.
Across the seven states Trump was the preferred candidate for 49 percent of the voters. However, with the inclusion of other candidates Trump’s voter base dropped to 45 percent with Biden being preferred by 40 and independent Robert F. Kennedy Jr. taking 7 percent of the vote share.
The key issues for voters in these states were the state of the economy followed by immigration and abortion and democracy tired for the third.
The Bloomberg News/Morning Consult poll surveyed 4,969 registered voters in seven swing states online from April 8-15. The poll has a margin of error of 1 percent across all the swing states.
