TCS launches innovation lab in Cincinnati

Indian multinational Information Technology services and consulting company, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has inaugurated the “Bringing Life to Things” Lab in Cincinnati, Ohio. This 3,000-square-foot facility aims to expedite the prototyping, experimentation, and large-scale implementation of AI, GenAI, and IoT solutions.

The lab will support the deployment of TCS' suite of IoT solutions, including TCS Clever EnergyTM, TCS Digital Manufacturing PlatformTM, and TCS DigifleetTM. It will cater to various industries such as healthcare, manufacturing, and energy, a company statement said. Additionally, the lab is also designed to foster collaboration and innovation by integrating physical assets, partner technologies, and customer challenges.

Amit Bajaj, president-North America, TCS, highlighted the importance of the lab in addressing structural shifts such as energy transition and AI-driven production capacity. “TCS’ investment in the Bringing Life to Things Lab in Ohio will help our clients bridge the traditional divide between operational and digital technology by rapidly turning their ideas into minimum viable products that reimagine their value chain at scale. With its strategic location in Cincinnati, home of TCS’ largest American delivery center, the lab is well positioned to tap into the area’s tech talent to help our customers across North America,” he said.

Regu Ayyaswamy, global head of IoT and Digital Engineering, TCS, stated, "This lab will spark co-innovation, enabling clients to brainstorm and collaborate through design thinking workshops, and unlock the full potential of IoT, AI, and GenAI technologies."

Notable initiatives at the lab include the "Digital Twin of the Heart," which uses AI-powered digital twin technology to monitor athletes' hearts, and the development of Software-Defined Vehicles (SDVs) for the automotive sector. The lab also engages with the local community through TCS’ smart gardening technology, TCS Grow+, and supports TCS' digital innovation program, goIT.
