The main day of Diwali, also known as Deepavali, will be celebrated on Nov. 1, 2024, symbolizing the victory of light over darkness. Communities across North Texas are hosting various events to mark the occasion.
On Oct. 29, families with young children can enjoy crafts and storytime at Cozby Library, 177 N. Heartz Road, Coppell, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Held on October 26 from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Southlake Town Square. This festival features food stalls, a fashion show, photo booths, and a fireworks finale.
From Nov. 1 and 2, several library branches will host activities. Park Forest offers games and snacks on Nov. 1, Audelia Road has candle-making, and Vickery Park will host dance and music on Nov. 2.
The Frisco temple will offer pujas from Oct. 29 to Nov. 1, leading up to Diwali. Services start at US$21 at 12030 Independence Parkway, Frisco.
On Nov. 3 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Klyde Warren Park will host cultural performances and festive decor on the Ginsburg Family Great Lawn.
Held at The Sound, 3111 Olympus Blvd., Coppell, on November 3 from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m., this event features Indian cuisine, live entertainment, and a shopping bazaar.
