RRR filmmaker SS Rajamouli has announced the biopic on Dadasaheb Phalke titled ‘Made In India’, which will be directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Nitin Kakkar. The film is set to release in six languages – Marathi, Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada.

Sharing the announcement video, Rajamouli wrote on X, formerly Twitter, “When I first heard the narration, it moved me emotionally like nothing else. With immense pride, presenting Made In India.” The film will be produced by Varun Gupta of MaxStudios and SS Karthikeya of Showing Business.

The director won the Best Director award (Telugu) at SIIMA 2023 for RRR, starring N T Rama Rao Jr, Ram Charan, Ajay Devgn, and Alia Bhatt. The film's Naatu Naatu song bagged an Oscar as its composer MM Keeravani picked up the trophy with lyricist Chandrabose.

The 49-year-old Rajamouli is a recipient of various national and international honours, including a New York Film Critics Circle award, a Critics' Choice Movie Award, two Saturn Awards, and four National Film Awards. In 2016, the Indian Government honoured him with the Padma Shri, for his contributions in the field.
