Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan's latest film Jawan has grossed over US$120 million (₹1,000 crores) in collection worldwide. The production house of the film Red Chillies Entertainment posted of X, formerly known as Twitter, "Jawan dominates the box office and a million hearts too!" The film is produced by Gauri Khan and co-produced by Gaurav Verma.
Jawan was initially planned for release on June 2, 2023, but was postponed due to unfinished post-production work. Kollywood director Atlee's debut film in Hindi was released on September 7, in two other languages Tamil and Telugu. It was theatrically in standard, IMAX, 4DX and other premium format. The film outlines the journey of a man who is set to undo the ills in society. Shah Rukh Khan features in a dual role as a father named Vikram Rathore and a son named Azad. The film also features Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi in lead roles and Deepika Padukone and Sanjay Dutt in special appearances. Jawan also stars Priyamani, Sanya Malhotra, Ridhi Dogra, Lehar Khan, Girija Oak and Sanjeeta Bhattacharya.
A report by the Hindustan Times revealed that Jawan became the second film to cross the 1000-crore mark after Pathaan. Khan's Pathaan was released on January 25, 2023, and hit the same target four weeks later that date. Meanwhile, Jawan crossed the mark in only 18 days, the report said.
The 57-year-old Khan had been reacting to social media posts appreciating the benchmark crossed by Jawan. "Thank you for your wishes…. Looking forward to Thalapathy’s next!!! I love Vijay sir!!," replied Khan to one of the posts on X.
