Kamala Harris’s 60th birthday was celebrated with a special prayer ceremony at the Mahalakshmi Temple in Ashland, Massachusetts on Oct. 20. Mahalakshmi Temple is one of the oldest and largest temples in New England, Massachusetts.
Family, friends, and supporters from across the U.S., including key states like Pennsylvania and Michigan, offered blessings for Harris’s well-being and leadership. Kamala’s uncle, G. Balachandran, and Ramesh V. Kapur, President of the U.S.-India Security Council, also attended online.
Local community leaders such as Pramit Maakoday, Priya Samant, Ranjani Saigal, and youth activist Tanishka Indorekar took part in the ceremony, led by temple priest Alagesan. The gathering reflected widespread hope for Harris’s success as she aims to make history in the upcoming election.
Harris, whose heritage blends Indian, African, and American cultures has become a symbol of diversity and resilience. Her story continues to inspire people from all backgrounds, embodying the values of unity and inclusion.
