Sikh community honors public service officials at Mineola

Thousands gathered at the Theodore Roosevelt Executive Building on Oct. 21 to honor community leaders and law enforcement officers for their service and dedication. 

The event organized by the Satkar Committee of New York in collaboration with Sikh organizations, celebrated honorees whose work exemplifies the values of unity, service, and community support rooted in Sikh principles.

Among the honorees were Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman, Nassau County Police Commissioner Patrick J. Ryder, Detective Thomas Daly of the 3rd Squad, and Human Rights Commission Chairman Dr. Bobby K. Kalotee. 

Each received a gold medal for contributions to enhancing community welfare and promoting human rights. The ceremony featured speeches from notable figures emphasizing collaboration between community groups and law enforcement in building a more cohesive society. 

The organizers commended the honorees' dedication, underscoring service as a fundamental value in overcoming societal challenges.
