Vocalist Shankar Mahadevan, percussionists Ustad Zakir Hussain (tabla), Selvaganesh Vinayarkram (kanjira), and violinist Ganesh Rajagopalan won the Best Global Music Album award at the Grammy Awards 2024 held at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
The Indian musicians part of the fusion band Shakti were recognised for their latest album ‘This Moment’, which released in June 2023.

In addition to this award, tabla player Hussain bagged awards for 'As We Speak' under the Best Contemporary Instrumental Album category and for 'Pashto' under the Best Global Music Performance category. Meanwhile, flutist Rakesh Chaurasia also bagged awards for Pashto and As We Speak, along with Hussain, in collaboration with Béla Fleck, Edgar Meyer.
Accepting the award on stage, singer and composer Mahadevan said, "Thank you boys. Thank you God, family, friends, and India. India, we are proud of you. Last but not the least, I would like to dedicate this award to my wife whom every note of my music is dedicated to."
