Satyan Parameswaran joins Baldor Specialty Foods

Satyan Parameswaran joins Baldor Specialty Foods as chief digital and innovation officer / LinkedIn

Baldor Specialty Foods, known as the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic’s largest distributor of premium produce and specialty foods, has appointed Indian-origin executive Satyan Parameswaran as the chief digital and innovation officer (CDIO).

Parameswaran previously served at United Parcel Service (UPS) as the president of information technology. At UPS, he spearheaded the management of the global technology infrastructure facilitating the delivery of over 20 million packages daily. 

His responsibilities encompassed various critical technology functions such as shipping, visibility, tracking, customer care, billing, revenue management, UPS.com, UPS stores, and sales. According to the company's press release, Parameswaran has extensive expertise in logistics and technology, which he will bring to his new position. 

Parameswaran has a number of patents to his name and was named to CIO magazine's list of the top 100 chief information officers for high-value programs in 2021, 2022, and 2023 for his exceptional contributions.

In the new role, Parameswaran will operate from Baldor’s Hunts Point headquarters in the Bronx. He will oversee the company’s technology and digital product teams, while also engaging with other Baldor businesses and hubs across the Mid-Atlantic service area.

Parameswaran expressed eagerness to contribute to Baldor’s mission and expressed his passion for leveraging technology to enhance the customer experience.  “This role at Baldor gives me the opportunity to do the two things I enjoy doing most: building high-performance teams and leveraging technology to elevate the customer experience,” he stated.

He holds an MBA from Rutgers University in Finance, along with an undergraduate degree in electrical engineering and a graduate degree in Computer Science.
