The Pennsylvania State University’s Alumni Association will honor Santosh Sankar with the Alumni Achievement award at the 2024 Alumni Achievement Awards ceremony on March 15.
Currently the co-founder of venture capital firm Dynamo Ventures based in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Sankar graduated from the university in 2010 with a bachelors degree in finance, and minor in information systems management.
At Penn, Sankar was involved with several societies and participated in activities including The Nittany Lion Fund, The Penn State Investment Association, The Next CEO Competition, and Penn State Dance MaraTHON. Following his graduation, he volunteered as an alumni mentor for students at the Penn State Smeal College of Business and continues till the present day.
Sankar, who started his entrepreneurial journey when he was 13, co-founded Dynamo Ventures in 2016, and serves as its managing partner. The company invests in supply chain and mobility startups at the pre-seed and seed stages that have enterprise business models. In 2017, he was named to Forbes 30 Under 30 for venture capital and Forbes 30 Under 30 “Big Money” list.
The Indian Americanwas previously at Citigroup where he focused on M&A, capital raising and risk securitization. He also served as a public equities analyst at Wells Fargo. Sankar serves as the board director at Guided Energy, PaintJet, and Solvento, an AI-powered software and embedded financial products to automate payments for truckers.
The Alumni Achievement Award recognizes alumni 35 years of age and younger for their extraordinary professional accomplishments, demonstrating to students that Penn State alumni can succeed at an early age. Recipients are nominated by an academic college or campus and invited to return to Penn State to share their expertise with students and the University community.
The Penn State Alumni Association which is at the helm of the award ceremony is a 150-year-old entity that keeps alumni connected to the University and each other.
