The Fox Chase Cancer Center’s Medical Staff Executive Committee has honored Indian-American physician Sanjay S. Reddy with the 2024 Faculty Citizenship Award.. The award recognizes a faculty member who exemplifies compassion, dedication, and exceptional patient care.
“This distinction is well deserved by Dr. Reddy. He greatly exemplifies the humanity, expertise, and quality of care that we seek to provide here at Fox Chase,” said Robert Uzzo, president and CEO of Fox Chase.
Reddy, who joined Fox Chase in 2012 as a fellow in the Department of Surgical Oncology, currently serves as the department’s division chief. He earns widespread praise from patients for his professionalism and compassion, according to a news release issued by the center. Reflecting on the award, Reddy said, “It is a tremendous honor to receive this award from an organization that has allowed me to grow as both a clinician and an individual.”
In addition to his patient care responsibilities, Reddy holds several leadership roles at Fox Chase, including program director for the Complex General Surgical Oncology Fellowship and co-director of the Marvin & Concetta Greenberg Pancreatic Cancer Institute. He also holds the prestigious Marvin S. Greenberg, MD, Chair in Pancreatic Cancer Surgery.
Reddy's work in developing Fox Chase’s pancreatic cancer program has earned regional and national recognition. “Fox Chase Cancer Center is a powerhouse of an institution, and I’m endlessly thankful to my colleagues for their trust in, and support of, my work,” said Reddy, who completed a Surgical Oncology Fellowship at the Center and a General Surgery residency at Beth Israel Medical Center, New York.
