San Francisco Celebrates India's 78th Independence Day at Gadar Memorial

San Francisco’s Gadar Memorial was abuzz with patriotic fervor today. The Indian Consulate General, Dr. K. Srikar Reddy, led the 78th Independence Day celebrations of India. This event marked Dr. Reddy’s completion of one year in his role as Consul General in San Francisco.

The ceremony drew a large and enthusiastic crowd from the Bay Area’s Indian community. Dr. Reddy hoisted the Indian national flag, known as the Tiranga, amidst a backdrop of historical significance. The Gadar Memorial, a tribute to Indian freedom fighters, served as a poignant venue for this celebration of India's rich heritage and progress.

Dr. Reddy's address featured a reading of the President of India's message. It presented the nation's journey from a colony to a global player. He highlighted India’s achievements in various domains.

They included technology, space exploration, and its role on the global stage. He praised the Indian diaspora for their contributions to strengthening the bond between India and the United States.
