Indian American actors Sakina Jaffrey and Arjun Athalye have been announced as recurring cast members for the second season of the Disney+ series “Goosebumps.”

According to Variety, they join a cast that includes Eloise Payet, Christopher Paul Richards, Kyra Tantao, and Stony Blyden. They will appear alongside previously announced cast members David Schwimmer, Ana Ortiz, Sam McCarthy, Jayden Bartels, Elijah Cooper, Galilea La Salvia, and Francesca Noel.

Variety previously reported that “Goosebumps” would take an anthology approach for its second season, featuring an entirely new cast and storyline distinct from the first season.

Athalye will star as Sameer, described as one of the “four teenagers who mysteriously vanished, becoming a central secret to the present-day characters.” Jaffrey will play Ramona, a character described only as “a mysterious woman,” according to Variety.

Season 2 of “Goosebumps” follows a new story centered on fraternal twins Devin (McCarthy) and Cece (Bartels) as they adjust to life with their recently divorced father, Anthony (Schwimmer). The twins discover a threat stirring within their new environment and quickly realize that dark secrets are among them.

This discovery triggers a chain of events unraveling a profound mystery. As Devin, Cece, and their friends — Alex (Noel), CJ (Cooper), and Frankie (La Salvia) — delve into the unknown, they become entangled in the chilling tale of the four teenagers who mysteriously vanished in 1994.

Jaffrey, known for her role as Daevisha “Dave” Mahar in the Showtime drama “Billions,” where she played a dogged defense attorney, brings a wealth of experience to “Goosebumps.” Her character in “Billions” goes up against New York Attorney General Chuck Rhoades (Paul Giamatti) and ultimately sways him to draft her into his cause, according to Deadline.

Athalye, a rising star, joins the series bringing fresh talent and depth to the mysterious narrative of “Goosebumps” Season 2. Previously, he was a member of an international theater company that toured North America, performing for thousands, including Congress. Additionally, he has appeared in an Off-Broadway production at the Riverside Theater and numerous community shows.

He is well known for his roles in "Are you afraid of the dark", and "Just beyond".
