India emerged victorious in the recent T20I match against Afghanistan with a six-wicket win at the Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore.
The victory also marked four records for Rohit Sharma, who led the Indian team with two consecutive wins.
Returning to India's T20I lineup for the first time since the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2022 proved fruitful for the Indian captain. In a historic feat, Sharma became the first men's player to play 150 T20Is.
In another milestone, Sharma became the first player to win 100 T20Is. He has also made his mark among the top run-scorers in T20Is, amassing 3853 runs in 149 games with a strike rate of approximately 140. He now shares the record for the most hundreds with Glenn Maxwell and Suryakumar Yadav.
Sharma equaled MS Dhoni's record to become the Indian captain with the greatest number of T20 wins. While Dhoni has secured 41 wins in 72 matches, Sharma achieved the same number in just 53 matches.
