RISE Robotics appoints Hiten Sonpal as new CEO

RISE Robotics, a research and product development company in Somerville, Massachusetts has appointed Hiten Sonpal as its new chief executive officer,

Sonpal, a veteran in the robotics and automation sectors, brings extensive experience from his previous roles, such as president at Electric Sheep Robotics and CEO at Mowbot. His tenure at iRobot saw him lead engineering and product initiatives that resulted in the successful shipment of millions of units.

Since his appointment in May, Sonpal has already begun to implement strategic changes at RISE Robotics. As per the firm’s release, he has realigned the company's project portfolio and introduced a 12-week program allowing employees to dedicate Fridays to passion projects, fostering innovation and creativity within the team.

Sonpal's strategic objectives include accelerating the time to market for RISE Robotics' products, initiating a sampling program, and reviving the paused liftgate project. He emphasizes the importance of agility and speed in capitalizing on market opportunities.
