Indian American Congressman Shri Thanedar (MI-13) reaffirmed his full support for President Biden’s re-election and dismissed any speculation about the President stepping down

Highlighting Biden’s first-term achievements, Thanedar praised the President’s record infrastructure spending, investments in semiconductors and supply chains through the CHIPS Act, reductions in insulin costs, and the enactment of the first major gun safety legislation in nearly 30 years.

According to the Congressman, Michigan’s 13th Congressional District has benefited directly from Biden’s legislative accomplishments, receiving $320 million in infrastructure funds. These funds have facilitated road repairs, lead line replacements, flood mitigation efforts, and emergency response investments. President Biden also has substantial proposals to address affordable housing and reduce the cost of living in the district, Thanedar noted.

“A few months ago, I sat twenty feet away from President Biden and listened to him outline his vision for our country for nearly an hour. I’ve had multiple one on one conversations with him where he speaks fondly of Detroit and understands the problems we face. He is the same person we elected in 2020, where he was the most effective leader we’ve had in modern times,” Thanedar said in a statement.

“There’s still much more to be done, and we need more federal investment, especially in areas like housing. To me, the choice is clear. President Biden will bring more federal dollars to our district, while Trump will just keep giving tax breaks to the rich. I’m fully behind President Biden as he is clearly the best choice for the 13th District,” he asserted.

Congressman Thanedar, who grew up in India in poverty, has been a dedicated advocate for social justice, economic justice, and equality throughout his career. Elected to Congress in 2022, his re-election campaign emphasizes strengthening communities, combating poverty, and promoting inclusive policies to benefit all Michigan residents.
