Vivek Ramaswamy, who dropped out of the presidential race earlier this week has invited libertarians in New Hampshire to come out in support of former US President Donald Trump for the GOP nomination.
A vote for Trump is a vote for liberty, said the biotech entrepreneur as he endorsed the former President. Ramaswamy also took a swipe at Trump’s current opponent Nikki Haley.
“America-First vs. Dick Cheney 2.0. Pointless foreign wars vs. protecting our national interests. That’s the choice on the primary ballot in New Hampshire,” he posted on Twitter referring to Haley’s strategy as “Dick Cheney 2.0.”
Claiming that Trump is “the last best chance” for liberty in an interview with Fox Business, Ramaswamy said, “I am going to do everything in my power … to make sure we stand for the liberty-minded principles.”
Following the termination of his campaign, Ramaswamy went on to acknowledge that Trump, who secured 51 percent of the Iowa votes, is what America wants and expressed support for the Trump-led America First movement.
He has openly spoken out against Haley’s policies while he was vying for the GOP nomination. One of the policies is tying social media pages with a government-issued identification. In November 2023, Haley vowed that if elected to office, she would enforce linking social media profiles to government-issued IDs.
“First of all, (anonymous social media posts) it's a national security threat. When you do that (tying social media profiles to government-issued IDs), all of a sudden people have to stand by what they say. And it gets rid of the Russian bots, the Iranian bots, and the Chinese bots,” Haley said during an interview with Fox News. She received a widespread backlash for her comments.
While Haley has shown support for US aid to Ukraine and made a case for continued American involvement in the war, Ramaswamy has opposed humanitarian and military assistance to Ukraine, calling every effort by the US to Ukraine a “disaster.”
