Rain halts Ind Vs Pak Asia Cup clash

With a match point given to both teams, Pakistan qualified for the next stage of the tournament

The highly awaited contest between arch-rivals, India and Pakistan at the Asia Cup, was washed out by rain on Sunday, September 2. Each side scored a point as the match was abandoned in the second innings.
The Men in Blue put up 266 in 48.5 overs of the first innings. Ishan Kishan and Hardik Pandya showed their batting prowess scoring 82 and 87 respectively. Their 138-run fifth-wicket stand was the highest fifth wicket partnership for India against Pakistan in the one-day internationals.
Meanwhile, Pakistan's Shaheen Shah Afridi dominated the pitch as he dismissed Indian skipper, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in consecutive overs. He finished with 4/35, Haris Rauf took 3/58, while Naseem Shah had 3/36. 
The brilliant bowling performance by the Pakistani pacers set a new record for all the wickets being claimed by pacers in am innings.  With the extra point, Pakistan secured three points in Group A and qualified for the Super Four stage of the tournament.
