In a significant move, Queen Mary University of London has introduced two exclusive global talent scholarships, dedicated to supporting Indian students and their counterparts worldwide.
These scholarships, applicable for both undergraduate and postgraduate studies, carry a substantial value of £3,000 (US $3800) and are slated for students commencing their journey at Queen Mary in September 2024.
In contrast to conventional scholarship procedures, the number of eligible students is not restricted for these awards, thereby affording those with international fee status an equitable opportunity. This is especially significant as it signifies the inception of the university's scholarship initiative targeting Indian students.
Eligibility is automatic for all individuals who meet the designated criteria; no application is required, a university release noted. For undergraduate scholarships, aspiring students must hold an offer for an eligible program in September 2024 and attain A-level grades of AAA or equivalent, meanwhile, postgraduate candidates are required to secure an offer for an eligible postgraduate taught program for September 2024 and achieve a UK 1st Class Honours or its equivalent.
Lee Wildman, the director of global engagement at Queen Mary University of London, expressed delight in introducing these scholarships, acknowledging the vital role Indian students play in the university’s diverse community.
Queen Mary University, a Russell Group UK top 20 institution situated in the heart of London, has earned recognition as a world-leading research university and an education leader. Ranked 7th in the UK for research excellence, the university boasts a diverse student body, with international students constituting approximately 41 percent of the total.
