Prem Prakash Hindu Temple in Queens opens with great fanfare

The Pran pratishta (consecration ceremony) of all idols was done under the supervision of Satguru Bhagat Prakashji Maharaj.

Jaipur-based Prem Prakash Trust erected a Hindu Temple in Queens, New York, which was recently inaugurated with great fanfare. The temple, located on Queens Blvd. in the heart of Elmhurst’s Indian community, was envisioned by the late Satguru Haridasram Maharaj.

The Pran pratishta (consecration ceremony) of all idols was done under the supervision of Satguru Bhagat Prakashji Maharaj. A five day mela was also inaugurated on the occasion, which was attended by hundreds of people. On the last day, more than 500 people attended the event. 

Dr. Ashok Chainani and Kamal Chainani were instrumental in the temple’s establishment. Kailash and Minu Kumar from Dubai, Gope and Anita from Indonesia, Jagdish and Chandni from Curaçao also offered their support to the temple.
