Pratham USA, a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing learning opportunities for children, women and young people in India, has announced the addition of two corporate leaders, Narendra Mulani and Vandana Sikka to its national board.
An Accenture veteran, Mulani was instrumental in forming and growing the the firm’s Applied Intelligence business unit, responsible for building core capabilities in analytics, artificial intelligence and automation to create functional and industry solutions at scale. He serves on the boards of XSELL Technologies, Irisvision, and as a co-founder of SiriusAI, an AI solutions company focused on financial services. He also serves as an advisor to Insight Venture Partners.
Reacting to his appointment, he said, “Joining the Pratham USA board is an opportunity to channel my passion for education. I am delighted to join the team that’s writing the story of the transformation of thousands of lives in India.”
Meanwhile, Sikka is the founder and CEO of Learnee, a consumer technology company and a strong advocate of the universal right to education, especially for the disadvantaged. She launched the Infosys Foundation USA in 2014, and served as the chairperson of the board of trustees, where she defined the foundation’s strategy and oversaw grants that impacted millions of students.
Currently, she also serves on the board of directors of Code.org and Women in Data science(WiDS). “I am thrilled to join Pratham USA’s national board and contribute to their crucial work in making quality learning accessible to all,” said Vandana Sikka. “Education is a powerful equalizer that has the potential to bridge socioeconomic gaps, equip individuals with essential skills for the future, and open doors to new possibilities.”
According to the organization the two new additions to the board will help in enhancing educational access and outcomes in India. “Their experience and visionary leadership will undoubtedly guide our work to further Pratham’s mission of transforming lives through learning,” said Dhiren Shethia, chair, national board, Pratham USA.
