PM Modi and President Biden hold telephonic conversation on bilateral and global Issues

The leaders emphasised that India-U.S. partnership is aimed at benefiting not only the people of both countries but also the entire humanity.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a telephonic conversation with U.S. President Joseph R. Biden, during which the two leaders discussed various aspects of the India-U.S. Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership. 

Prime Minister Modi expressed his appreciation for President Biden’s "deep commitment" to the partnership. He described it as being "based on shared values of democracy, rule of law, and strong people-to-people ties."

The leaders reviewed the significant progress made in bilateral relations. Both emphasized that the India-U.S. partnership is aimed at benefiting not only the people of both countries but also the entire humanity.

A detailed exchange of views on several regional and global issues took place during the conversation. Prime Minister Modi briefed President Biden on his recent visit to Ukraine and reiterated India’s consistent position in favor of "dialogue and diplomacy". He expressed  full support for the "early return of peace and stability."

The two leaders also voiced their shared concern over the situation in Bangladesh. They particularly talked about the need  to “restore of law and order” and  to ensure the "safety and security of the minorities, particularly Hindus," in the country.

PM Modi said in a post on X, “Spoke to @POTUS @JoeBiden on phone today. We had a detailed exchange of views on various regional and global issues, including the situation in Ukraine.”



Reaffirming their commitment to strengthening cooperation in multilateral forums, including the Quad, both leaders agreed to remain in touch as they continue to work on mutual and global challenges.
