Indian American culinary expert and television host, Padma Lakshmi, will be the keynote speaker at the 2024 McLane Engage, an annual event organised by one of the largest distributors to the biggest retail and restaurant brands in America.
The event will take place from Aug.28-30 at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center, Nashville, Tennessee, bringing together industry leaders for networking, educational sessions, and product announcements.
Lakshmi, known for her role as the host and executive producer of Bravo’s "Top Chef" and Hulu’s "Taste the Nation," will share her insights on culinary trends and the importance of partnerships in fostering creativity and innovation in the kitchen, a statement by the organizers said.
An Emmy-nominated producer, Lakshmi in addition to her television roles, is an accomplished author, having written several cookbooks, including "Easy Exotic" and "Tangy, Tart, Hot & Sweet," as well as a memoir, "Love, Loss, and What We Ate."
She has received numerous awards for her work, including the 2021 Critics Choice Real TV Award for Best Culinary Series and the 2021 Gotham Award nomination for Breakthrough Series. Lakshmi also serves as a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and an ACLU Artist Ambassador for immigrants' rights and women's rights.
McLane Engage will also feature a variety of educational sessions presented by representatives from Conexxus, Bona Design Lab, NexChapter, and McLane. Topics will include artificial intelligence, the future of convenience stores, customer experience and digital innovation, and foodservice innovation and safety.
