Overseas Friends of BJP hosts gala in Atlanta after Indian election win
The event, held on June.9, was part of the Atlanta region's efforts to support BJP's campaign for the 2024 election.

The Overseas Friends of BJP, Atlanta, organized a gala function on June.9 at Impact Hall, Global Mall to celebrate the victory of the BJP-led NDA in the 2024 election. The main theme of the event was "Bharat on the path of Development”. With over 350 Indian-Americans in attendance, the gathering was a great success.
The function was graced by three BJP leaders from India, including Ramchandra Rao, Paidi Rekesh Reddy, and Pradeep Ravikanthi from Telangana. They expressed their gratitude to the organizers for inviting them to the victory celebration. They praised the dynamic leadership of PM Narendra Modi for the BJP's victory in the 2024 election in partnership with the National Democratic Alliance, despite heavy odds, marking the third such victory in the history of India. They opined that by 2029, India would become the 3rd largest economy in the world.
The celebration was enhanced by a captivating Indian classical Bharat Natyam dance, performed by the talented young students of Soujanya Madhusudhan from Bharath Darshana and the students of Kumud Savla from Nritya Natya Kala Bharti Dance and Music Academy.

Additionally, Team Atlanta showcased a vibrant array of activities, including a car rally, ‘chai pe charcha’, Nukad, ‘Vijayi mantra homa’, and a call campaign.

Dhiru Shah, one of the event organizers, expressed disappointment over the fact that nearly 40% of Hindu voters did not participate in the elections, resulting in BJP winning only 240 seats instead of the targeted 400+. He highlighted a similar situation in local American elections, citing Forsyth county, where less than 100 Hindu Americans voted out of a total of 3,700 registered Hindu voters, leading to the loss of a Hindu American candidate for the Commissioner’s seat. Shah urged all eligible Hindu American voters to cast their votes in county, state, and federal elections regardless of their party affiliations. He emphasized that it is the Dharmic duty of every Hindu to donate (Dan) for Dharmic causes.
