Sanjay Narayanan, a remarkable talent, embarked on his directorial journey at the tender age of 21 with his poignant film "Mallai Nera Mallipoo." Sanjay Narayanan shared his insights into the genesis of "Mallai Nera Mallipoo," expressing his deep desire to authentically portray the life of a sex worker without resorting to moral judgments. The inspiration for "Mallai Nera Mallipoo" struck Narayanan when he came across a compelling article about sex workers during the pandemic. This article, featuring an interview with a woman named Lakshmi, became the cornerstone of his film. As a tribute to the real-life source of inspiration, Narayanan named the central character after the interviewee.
Narayanan's artistic journey began at the age of 20, fueled by a burning desire to express his ideologies visually through the medium of film. His aspiration goes beyond storytelling; he aims to evoke emotions and provoke thoughts through the art of cinema. The young director's dedication to crafting a narrative that transcends verbal communication is evident in every frame of his debut film.
"When I embarked on the journey of 'Mallai Nera Mallipoo' at the age of 20, my goal was to communicate through the language of visual art," Sanjay explained. "I want my films to visually reflect my ideology, guiding the audience through a story without relying heavily on words."
