New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) has appointed Jaishankar Ganesh as the new dean of its School of Management.

Ganesh, who took office on July 1, joins NYIT from Rutgers School of Business-Camden, where he served as the dean and professor of marketing.

In his new role, Ganesh will lead the School of Management’s academic, administrative, strategic, and financial operations. His responsibilities include resource management, external engagement, faculty recruitment and development, and curriculum review.

“New York Tech stands as a polytechnic university within business hubs. Jai’s expertise will help define a compelling identity for the School of Management,” said provost and executive vice president Jerry Balentine.

Ganesh's tenure at Rutgers saw significant achievements, including the expansion of academic programs, online degrees, faculty support, and community engagement. He doubled enrollment and quadrupled revenue, spearheading strategic planning and accreditation efforts.

At New York Tech, Ganesh aims to enhance faculty and student experiences and secure Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) reaccreditation. His plans include developing new programs, strengthening corporate partnerships, and amplifying the school's value to students.

Before Rutgers, Ganesh served as associate dean at the University of Central Florida and held various academic positions at the University of Houston. He holds a Ph.D. and an M.B.A. from the University of Houston.
