A new timelapse video released today shows how New York’s Nassau County International Cricket Stadium is coming up to shape to host eight high intensity matches of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024.
“We are delighted to be marking 60 days to go to the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024,” International Cricket Council (ICC) head of Events, Chris Tetley said. The tournament is set to commence on Jun.1 with co-hosts USA taking on Canada.
“The project to build a fully modular stadium in Nassau County is a first for international cricket and we are delighted that construction is progressing full as planned. The scale of the venue in the latest timelapse is impressive and a visit to the stadium is not to be missed,” he added.
“What has been accomplished in just two short months of construction in Nassau County is truly unprecedented and as we mark the 60 days to go, we’re excited to welcome cricket fans from all over the world to this first-of-its kind international cricket venue,” T20 USA, Inc. CEO Brett Jones remarked.
With just two months to go for the highly anticipated tournament to begin, additional limited tickets for six matches at the stadium in New York, which includes India versus Ireland on Jun.5 and USA against India on Jun.12 will now be released.
Additionally, tickets for all four matches at the Grand Prairie Cricket Stadium in Texas, including the opening World Cup match featuring the USA and Canada on Jun. 1 will also be available.
