US-based gaming firm, Mobile Global Esports, has appointed Sunny Bhandarkar as the chief executive officer. He succeeds outgoing CEO David Pross, who recently retired.
Bhandarkar previously served as the CEO-India and managing director at Elite Sports India. In that role, he demonstrated exceptional leadership overseeing the management team of Sports India, a press release by the company said.
Expressing enthusiasm over the new role, Bhandarkar said, “I am honored to lead Mobile Global Esports Inc. into its next phase of growth. The company’s commitment to innovation and its unique position in the mobile esports domain present exciting possibilities.”
His professional journey began in 2013 when he joined Elite Sports India. Prior to that, he was recognized as the first player drafted in the pioneering Elite Football League draft in 2012.
With a master’s degree in commerce/management studies from the University of Mumbai, his academic foundation aligns seamlessly with his achievements in the esports industry.
Remarkably, Bhandarkar has emerged as the youngest Indian CEO listed on NASDAQ, solidifying his position as one of the youngest business leaders globally.
The company leadership called Bhandarkar’s strategic appointment an important step to “bring fresh perspectives and innovations to further enhance the company’s position in the competitive esports landscape.”
“The industry now eagerly anticipates the strategic vision and initiatives Sunny Bhandarkar will bring to the company as he takes the helm of this dynamic and rapidly evolving sector,” the press release added.
The company specializes in mobile esports, boasting a gaming and social platform that incorporates proprietary compression technology. Additionally, it holds trademark and intellectual property rights for collegiate esports tournaments and players in India.
