Award-winning Indian-origin journalist Mehdi Hasan has unveiled his latest venture, Zeteo, a new independent media company set to challenge double standards, provide unfiltered news, and prioritize truth-seeking.

In the current climate of global conflict, domestic concerns of fascism, and widespread propaganda, Hasan introduced Zeteo as a platform that seeks answers to pressing questions while maintaining an unwavering commitment to the truth.

Named after the ancient Greek word for 'seeking out' and 'striving,' Zeteo is positioned as a revival of independent and unfiltered journalism. Hasan, known for his hard-hitting interviews, envisioned Zeteo as a media organization that addresses significant issues through podcasts, newsletters, op-eds, and essays contributed by a diverse range of high-profile voices.

In a promotional video, he encouraged individuals to join this endeavor to challenge powerful entities, reshape narratives, and uphold adversarial journalism. According to him, the platform will champion the principles of honest reporting and ensure that journalism serves the public interest.

A British American born to Indian immigrants from Hyderabad, Hasan was the former host of The Mehdi Hasan Show on MSNBC which was canceled in November 2023 amid controversy. In February 2024, he joined the Guardian US as a columnist.
