Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) clinched a commanding 21-run victory over Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Lucknow, propelled by the stunning debut performance of Mayank Yadav. Yadav's blistering pace, consistently hitting 150kph, proved too much for the Punjab Kings batters to handle as he claimed three crucial wickets.
In his first match, Yadav made a spectacular statement with a lightning-fast delivery that reached 155.8 kph. Despite skipper Shikhar Dhawan's valiant 70-run effort, Punjab Kings fell short in their chase of the 200-run target set by Lucknow.

Very impressive @IPL @JioCinema @BCCI
The foundation for Lucknow's victory was laid by impressive contributions from Quinton de Kock (54), Krunal Pandya (43*), and Nicholas Pooran (42),amounting to a formidable total of 199/8 in their allotted 20 overs. Although wickets fell at regular intervals, consistent batting from one end ensured Lucknow posted a challenging total at their home ground.
Lucknow's stand-in skipper, Nicholas Pooran, won the toss and elected to bat first against Punjab Kings, strategically utilizing KL Rahul as an Impact Player due to recent injury concerns. With LSG aiming to bounce back from their opening defeat against Rajasthan Royals, the match against Punjab Kings held significance as they sought their first victory of the season.
Meanwhile, Punjab Kings, led by Shikhar Dhawan, aimed to regain their winning momentum after a setback against RCB. PBKS, despite consistent form, sought improvements from players like Harshal Patel to bolster their performance. With Dhawan, Sam Curran, and Liam Livingstone in fine batting form, PBKS aimed for strong performances from bowlers like Arshdeep Singh and Curran against LSG.
