Capgemini has appointed Indian-origin executive Kartik Ramakrishnan as the new CEO of its financial services strategic business unit, effective Nov 1, 2024.
Ramakrishnan, who has been serving as deputy CEO of the unit and leading the company's banking and capital markets business, will succeed Anirban Bose, who has now been appointed CEO of Capgemini’s Americas Strategic Business Unit.
Ramakrishnan joined Capgemini’s group executive committee in 2023 and has been instrumental in managing sales teams for banking and capital markets globally. Throughout his 25-year career, he has been involved in launching new financial products and delivering innovative, cost-effective solutions for clients across Australia, Canada, Germany, India, Singapore, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
“Kartik is Anirban’s natural successor, having led the banking sector for the past six years,” said Aiman Ezzat, CEO of Capgemini Group.
Ramakrishnan holds a bachelor’s degree from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) and a master’s degree from the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago.
Anirban Bose, the outgoing CEO of the Financial Services unit, has been credited with shaping and expanding the business globally. His new role will focus on accelerating Capgemini's progress in the Americas.
