Accenture’s chief executive of technology and chief technology officer (CTO), Karthik Narain, will be honored with the Pinnacle Award by the Asian American Business Development Center (AABDC) during its annual Outstanding 50 Asian Americans in Business black-tie dinner gala, on Sept 18.
The Pinnacle Award, AABDC’s highest honor, is given to C-suite executives who have reached the peak of their careers and demonstrated significant industry leadership. Past awardees include Raj Subramaniam, CEO of FedEx Corporation.
Narain oversees Accenture’s global technology strategy, guiding the company’s cloud, data, AI, and infrastructure solutions. Since joining Accenture in 2015, he has led pivotal initiatives in cloud services and artificial intelligence, including Accenture Cloud First, which has driven the company’s growth in cloud technology. Under his leadership, Accenture has also established an early lead in generative AI through investments in the Center for Advanced AI and new partnerships.
Before his role as CTO, Narain held senior positions at Accenture Technology in North America, supporting Global 2000 clients in leveraging cloud technology to drive transformation. He is also actively involved in the Technology Women’s Executive Leadership program, promoting the growth of women in senior technology roles.
He received his master’s In computer science and business from Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli, India.
The 2024 Outstanding 50 gala will also celebrate AABDC’s 30th anniversary. The event typically draws over 600 business and civic leaders who come together to honor Asian American entrepreneurs and corporate executives from across the U.S.
