U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris’s job rating is higher than the reigning President Joe Biden, as per results of a poll conducted by Monmouth University.

As per findings of the poll, 35 percent of the respondents in December 2023 approve of the job Harris is doing as Vice President. Biden fell behind his V.P. as 34 percent of respondents said they approve of the job he is doing as President, in December 2023.

As per the trends from the previous years, both Harris and Biden, have fared poorly in the poll this month. The Monmouth University Poll was conducted by telephone between November 30 to December 4, 2023, with 803 respondents in the U.S.

“In other poll results, Vice President Kamala Harris receives a job rating of 35 percent approve and 57 percent disapprove, which is basically unchanged from September (36 percent favorable and 56 percent unfavorable). Only 20 percent of the public says the country is going in the right direction, while 69 percent say it is on the wrong track,” the poll states.

Harris is the first female, Black, and South Asian American to serve as the V.P. of the U.S. Since taking office in 2021, she has been on the task force working toward controlling the influx of migrators coming in from the southern border. She was “the most qualified person to do it,” Biden had said at the time.

Critics of the current administration have said his policies have led to a surge in illegal migration. Harris’s approval ratings have taken a beating since she was handed the responsibility of controlling the border crisis, as per reports.

As per an LA Times national opinion poll, 39 per cent of registered voters had a favorable opinion of Harris, as of December 12, 2023, and Biden is doing slightly better with 41 per cent of respondents having a favorable opinion of him.
