Jawan achieves remarkable feat in the Middle East

YRF's 2023 blockbuster 'Jawan' starring Shah Rukh Khan made history after achieving a global total of $140 million.

Yash Raj Films (YRF) productions’ 2023 Shah Rukh Khan blockbuster ‘Jawan’ became the first Indian film to cross the $16 million mark in the Middle East. The news was shared by YRF  marking a milestone in the global community.

Directed by Atlee and starring Khan, Nayanthara, and Vijay Sethupathi, ‘Jawan’ is an action thriller that weaves an emotionally charged narrative about a man seeking to correct the wrongs in society. The screenplay is written by Sumit Arora, Atlee, and Ramanagirivasan.

The movie grossed over US$92 million and earned US$46 million overseas, totalling US$140 million worldwide. It earned US$9.4 million in India and US$16 million globally on the opening day of its Hindi version breaking SRK’s record for the highest grossing opening with Pathaan. Internationally, the movie had a strong start, grossing US$32.62 million in its opening weekend.

It collected US $8.64 million from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA regions) and an additional US $8.22 million from the UK and European markets. Notably, the film became the first Indian film to gross over US $16 million at the Middle East box office on October 4, 2023.
