The 26th annual Dushahra Festival organized by Indo-American Festivals, Inc.(IAF) is set to take place on October 5, 2024, at Lake Papaianni Park in Edison, New Jersey. Taking note of the weather conditions, the rain date has been scheduled for October 12, 2024.
Since its inception, the Dushahra Festival has attracted people from all walks of life to celebrate the triumph of good over evil. In line with India's rich cultural traditions, the festival has become a prominent event in the Indo-American community across the United States, welcoming thousands of attendees each year.
The upcoming event will feature an array of festivities, including Ramleela, the timeless tale of Lord Rama's victory over the demon king Ravana followed by the burning of a towering 25-foot effigy of Ravana.
A fireworks display will mark the festival’s finale. Cultural performances, ethnic food and delicacies and a marketplace, featuring local and international vendors selling various products and services from across the world will be part of the festivities.
